Khal's Top 10 Most Wanted Fitted Caps

Written by
new era cap
Over the last year, I’ve had a steady rotation of fitteds I’ve rocked depending on my gear. I don’t go super flashy with the caps, nor do I keep all of the stickers and tags on them. I don’t need to prove to some 16 year old that I have a legit New Era 5950 on. And I don’t do snapbacks; if it’s not fitted, it’s not me. And if it’s not New Era, don’t even bring it up.

If I had the disposable income, I’d have a serious treasure trove of 5950s at my fingertips, but right now, I wanted to hit you guys with my current top 10 of Most Wanted Fitteds, from spots you too can hit on the Internets. This is in no particular order, and as of this posting, these hats are available in some way shape or form. Now this is MY list of what I WANT, if you have any fitteds you want to recommend, leave a comment and let me know what’s good!

New Jersey Nets: Red/Black/White/Gray (gray under)

This is a custom from CraniumFitteds that I actually had a hand in. With all of the hype of the NJ Nets moving to Brooklyn, there’s been a shortage of dope 5950s with the older logos. Hell, it can be a chore finding NJ Nets fitteds in and of itself! I had been ranting about this on twitter and randomly hit up Cranium Fitteds, who asked for examples of logos. They cooked this one up with a dope Red/Black/White/Gray colorway (which goes perfect with a lot of my attire), with the dope gray under, to give it a nice splash of flavor. The Brooklyn Nets fitteds are dope, and I own one, but I needed this one to round out my love for the team as it leaves Jersey.

Chicago Blackhawks Black 5950 (gray under):

I’m more of a fan of green unders, but this one works well with the gray. Different style. The Blackhawks logo, especially when it’s done big like this, is so necessary. I have a thing for Native American logos (Cleveland Indians and Atlanta Braves have the classic Indian heads), and this one takes the cake. The multi-color feathers can pop differently depending on what you’ve got on. Simple and effective.

Spider-Man Applique 5950:

New Era released a bunch new caps to celebrate the new Amazing Spider-Man flick, and this one is more chill than the others. Sure it’s got a big Spider-Man figure right on the front, but compared to the other caps in the series, this one is down-right ho-hum! I love Spider-Man caps, but most of them are too busy or child-like.

Monopoly Millionaires Club 5950:

New Era caps should be a dope expression of you. if you saw some of the stuff on my list, you’d assume I was stuck in my childhood. I’ve got a thing for appropriating things I grew up on and showcasing them now. Being big on Monopoly, and dreaming of owning a bunch of millions some day, this fitted just makes sense. Nice black with the top hat in gold. Let them know who you’re rolling with!

Manitoba Moose 5950:

Another thing I like to do with Fitteds is just display dope team logos. I don’t follow the AHL, nor do I know anyone who follows the Moose, but I love this angry animal logo. The basic black is dope, but I wonder if a camo fitted with that logo on it would be even crispier. Plus, it’s something different than what you normally see (Yankees, Expos, etc.)

Oakland Athletics Gray & Red 5950:

I was never huge into baseball, but I grew up following the A’s, and always dug the alternate/older Elephant logo. I actually own a cap similar to this, but I like how pronounced the Elephant is. Plus, a gray elephant on a gray fitted just sticks out to me. Something different to flex on people with!

Sickle & Hammer 5950:

This one might be a bit too bright for most, but that USSR symbol is pretty bold. Might also go well with gear for Atlanta Hawks fans. This also recently got redone by eCapcity, so grab it early and get your Ivan Drago on!

Atlanta Braves Emerald Green/orange/Dark Green 5950:

This is another Cranium Fitteds custom. I have one like this in Black and Gray, and that big Hollering Indian logo is essential. Just a definitive statement, especially if you’re from the ATL.

Oakland Raiders Official NFL On-Field 5950:

These are available on pre-order, but this is another iconic logo that I’m so glad New Era has their hands on. The NFL fitteds are just so crispy looking, I want to buy a lot of them. I really just can’t wait for the custom shops to go wild with the colorways, though. This one right here? Sick.

LA Lakers Hooks 5950:

There’s a grip of Lakers fitteds out there. I’m not even a FAN of this team, but the Black cap with the logo on top? I kind of wish they had a NBA logo on the back of the cap instead of the same logo from the front (smaller), but this is slick.

Now this is just a small sample of what I'm trying to cop next. What are some of your favorites? Hit the comments with your picks, with links, so we can really discover some new wears, especially for the remainder of the summer!
