The Golden State Warriors put an abrupt end to the feel good story of this young NBA season.

#StatBeastOfTheNight (11/5/13): Paul George (@Paul_George24)

#StatBeastOfTheNight (11/5/13): Paul George (@Paul_George24)
Paul George got a max contract in the offseason and has been worth every penny for the Pacers thus far. He's been playing out of his mind and has led his team to a 4-0 start which has them as the only undefeated team in the NBA. George is clearly on a mission to assert himself as one of the best players in the Association.

Kevin Love is on a mission to lead his team to its first playoff appearance in his tenure and to reaffirm himself as a top ten player in the NBA.

If you would have told me that a rookie would lead his team to victory over LeBron James and Derrick Rose within the same week, I would have laughed in your face. The joke is on me, though.

#StatBeastOfTheNight (11/1/13): Blake Griffin (@BlakeGriffin32)

#StatBeastOfTheNight (11/1/13): Blake Griffin (@BlakeGriffin32)
This is the type of performance that Doc Rivers expects out of Blake Griffin on a nightly basis. On a night when the team's floor general got off to a slow start, it was Blake Griffin filling in the blanks that contributed to the Clippers' tough road win Friday night.

#TheReturn Home for Derrick Rose

#TheReturn Home for Derrick Rose
The start of the 2013-2014 season hasn't been a fairy tale for Derrick Rose, but the ending of his first regular season home game since he tore his ACL was special. Rose looked rusty in the Bulls' first game of the season, a humbling 104-92 loss at the hands of the Miami Heat. His shot was off, he turned the ball over, and he found himself on the wrong side of a crossover. Opening Night couldn't be much worse for Rose and his Bulls.

The Clippers and Warriors do not like each other. The Clippers embarrassed the Warriors in the first of their four meetings last year, while the Warriors returned the favor in the next three games. Both teams will be fighting for the Pacific Division crown and are expected to make deep playoff pushes and could potentially meet up in the postseason.

This wasn't supposed to happen. Not one night after dismantling one of the best defenses in the NBA. Not to the defending champs. Not to LeBron James. Not at the hands of a team that is widely expected to be the worst in the NBA. And especially not by a rookie. And then it happened.

#NBABack: Opening Night Reactions

#NBABack: Opening Night Reactions
The 2013-2014 NBA season kicked off last night and it was great to have hoops back on the television. The NBA really did a great job of showcasing opening night and this should be an exciting season. With all of the wall to wall coverage of opening night, fans might forget this is only one night of a long season. Here are my thoughts on each game last night.

MANDOM NBA Power 50 (5-1)

MANDOM NBA Power 50 (5-1)
These are the top 5 players from MANDOM's NBA Power 50 for the 2012-2013 season.

Remember, this list is based on a few factors:
  • One - how well they played last season when they saw action.
  • Two - players are ranked according to the likelihood that you'd build a team around them.
For example, it would be a toss-up to choose between the 49th and 50th best players, but it would be a no-brainer to choose between the 49th and 20th best players. Keep that in mind. And the last factor - this list is my opinion and if you don't like it or if you do, let me know in the comments or on Twitter (@EnigmatikBGDB).
